Medical Director

Sol M. Abreu-Sosa, MD

Dr. Abreu-Sosa is the medical director of RUSH Specialty Hospital - Inpatient Rehabilitation. In this role since 2024, she works with hospital leadership to ensure early identification of patients that meet the criteria for admission to RUSH, promotes high-quality patient care and collaborates with other rehabilitation leaders on the development and implementation of quality and process improvement initiatives.

Dr. Abreu-Sosa previously served as medical director of Rush Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. She is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Abreu-Sosa completed her undergraduate studies in general science at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. She received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center in 2012.
